            <p><strong>Faculty of Science and Technology, Lancaster University</strong></p><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research and Engagement team within the Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research &amp; Engagement Manager to lead a supportive team of two dedicated Officers, who will be instrumental in promoting and communicating our world-leading research through a variety of media.</p><p><strong>About Us</strong></p><p>Lancaster University&rsquo;s purpose is to advance knowledge, wisdom, and understanding through excellence in research and teaching. By engaging with others, we aim to leverage our collective intellectual resources as a force for good, fostering positive economic, cultural, societal, and environmental change. The Research and Engagement team works closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the Faculty and the wider institution, facilitating communication of our innovative disciplines to a global audience, coordinating impactful events, and supporting our research centres and collaborative activities.</p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>The Research &amp; Engagement Manager will be pivotal in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collaboration, maximising the positive impact of our research and engagement efforts. This role requires a candidate with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to build successful working relationships with a diverse range of individuals.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Lead and motivate a team of two Research and Engagement Officers, overseeing their work and supporting their professional development.</li><li>Coordinate and implement communications strategies to promote research activities and outcomes effectively.</li><li>Organise and facilitate events and activities designed to engage external stakeholders with our research.</li><li>Foster relationships with academic staff, partners, and community groups to elevate the impact of our research.</li><li>Utilise skills in research translation, digital and social media, data management, and event organisation.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>The ideal candidate will possess:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Experience in leading, managing, and motivating a team to achieve organisational objectives.</li><li>Strong communication and collaborative skills.</li><li>A track record of engaging with diverse stakeholders and building effective relationships.</li></ul><p>We are committed to promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion across the Faculty, and we actively support family-friendly, flexible, and agile working policies on an individual basis.             <p id="isPasted"><u>Job overview</u></p><p>Lancaster University is seeking an exceptional and motivated individual to join the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) as a <strong>Senior Departmental Technical Manager and Health &amp; Safety Officer</strong>.</p><p>This is a unique opportunity to lead the technical and safety strategy of a large, complex academic department. You will provide strategic leadership to LEC&rsquo;s technical team, ensuring the availability of high-quality technical expertise for world-class teaching and research.</p><p>Working closely with the LEC Director and senior colleagues, you will:</p><ul><li>Lead and manage technical staff, supporting development and performance&nbsp;</li><li>Oversee technical resources and facilities to meet teaching and research needs&nbsp;</li><li>Provide expert health and safety advice and promote a positive safety culture&nbsp;</li><li>Lead the development of robust safety systems, including emergency planning, audits, inspections, and incident investigation&nbsp;</li><li>Develop and monitor safe systems of work, including for off-site activities&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to strategic planning as a member of the LEC Leadership Group</li></ul><p>&nbsp;You will play a central role in enabling cutting-edge teaching and research while embedding safety, wellbeing, and operational excellence across all activities.</p><p>This is a full-time, indefinite post, with an expectation of at least four days per week on campus. The role is offered at Grade 7 or Grade 8, depending on experience.
