Your role would be to work, both independently and collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (Jonny Evans), on research problems in these areas, publishing your results and presenting at conferences.</p><p>You should have completed a PhD in symplectic geometry, algebraic geometry, or a closely related discipline. You should have a good record of research, preferably available on the arXiv, and be able to demonstrate that you have a clear research agenda of your own which ties in with that of the grant.</p><p>The position is available from September 1<sup>st</sup> 2026, and will run until the end of the grant on 31<sup>st</sup> August 2027.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>Post-doctoral Research Associate &ndash; Coral Reef Ecology (Horizon Europe funded)&nbsp;</strong>Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University.</p><p>An exciting opportunity exists for a coral reef scientist or marine community ecologist to contribute to a Horizon Europe funded project: The role of connectivity in safeguarding functioning coastal ecosystems under global change.</p><p>We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic marine scientist to contribute to a project investigating the links between mangroves, seagrasses and coral reefs in the context of seabird nutrient inputs. This is a multi-institutional project, led by University of Bremen. Lancaster University is leading the ecology component focused on the Seychelles, with a particular focus on Aldabra Atoll and the inner islands marine parks. &nbsp;Fieldwork for the project will include long periods in remote locations, working in small teams, and experience of such working will be essential. The project will identify key sites where mangrove to coral reef connectivity can be mapped and investigated, assess species and nutrient connectivity across the seascape, and investigate outcomes for both ecosystem functioning and food security. Patterns of seabird densities in mangrove stands will be used as a study design to investigate the influence of seabird derived nutrient inputs on seascape connectivity. Co-mentoring of a PhD student on the same project will be part of the role. Applicants are encouraged to think through their own ideas about these linkages and how their area of expertise could be applied to this study design. You will work closely with Prof Nick Graham and Dr James Robinson on this project, and collaborate with partners at Seychelles Islands Foundation and Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, and with other universities in the consortium.</p><p>Preferred candidates will have a PhD in marine science, extensive experience of fieldwork in remote settings, and skills in statistical modelling, and writing publications.             <p id="isPasted">Lancaster Medical School seeks to appoint a number of (up to 2.5fte in total) Clinical Teaching Fellows to join the existing undergraduate medical programme teaching team, to meet the needs for additional student numbers of our expanding medical school and enhance the delivery with a clinical approach to teaching and mentorship. &nbsp;These posts&nbsp;would ideally suit someone who has completed their foundation training or is at core/early speciality training level, and is looking for a year-long &lsquo;out of programme experience&rsquo; in medical education. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>We will enable links with our clinical education partners to provide continued clinical experience alongside these medical education posts, as part of these unique, early portfolio career opportunities.</p><p>You will work in collaboration with the academic, clinical and professional service staff in Lancaster Medical School and deliver teaching to medical students. &nbsp;Preferred areas of focus within the curriculum are anatomy and clinical skills teaching but other areas of expertise will be considered.&nbsp;</p><p>You will be involved in all teaching, assessment and scholarly activity of our thriving Medical School, and should have the opportunity to gain experience of a range of small, medium and large group teaching.             <p>Lancaster University is part of a 5-year &pound;6.8 million EPSRC Programme Grant on &ldquo;<a href="https://sculi.ac.uk/">Securing Convergent Ultra-large Scale Infrastructures (SCULI)</a>&rdquo; conducted jointly with Bristol and Oxford Universities, international collaborators CMU/Duke, RISE-Sweden, and industry partners BT, HP, Airbus, BAE and Vodaphone.</p><p>We seek to appoint 1 full-time post-doctoral research associate (starting Summer 2026) to complete a team of 4 researchers who are exploring novel concepts for security controls and assurance in converged and ultra-large scale infrastructures.</p><p>The successful candidate for this role will develop new techniques for orchestrating security controls in dynamic and complex systems undergoing frequent changes to their function and security requirements. This work will involve researching how to introduce interactions between security controls to achieve security goals and exploring the trade-offs of doing so. We seek to appoint a researcher who has either experience in abstract modelling of distributed systems or practical experience deploying and experimenting with security controls.</p><p>As a Programme Grant there is considerable flexibility in this research agenda. This allows the right candidate to have a significant ability to direct their research activities.             <p id="isPasted">Lancaster Medical School is seeking to appoint a Clinical Skills Manager at 1.0 FTE. Part-time and job share arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.</p><p>You will be able to prioritise a complex workload and work effectively under pressure, while developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the MBChB programme team and a range of internal and external stakeholders, including partner NHS Trusts.</p><p>Excellent organisational skills and demonstrable experience in clinical skills teaching (including physical examination skills) are essential.</p><p>You will be a registered healthcare professional on an Agenda for Change contract (e.g. nurse or allied health professional), registered with a relevant UK professional regulatory body (e.g. the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council). You must hold a current licence to practise and have substantial experience in clinical settings relevant to undergraduate medical education.</p><p>You will be responsible for delivering teaching to medical students across a range of clinical skills, with a focus on clinical examination of key body systems, supporting preparation for early clinical experience. You will also facilitate small group teaching, simulation-based education, and lecture-based sessions.</p><p>You will support the management of a state-of-the-art simulation and clinical skills facility, including a 9-bed clinical skills laboratory and an 8-bed mobile simulation teaching unit.             <p id="isPasted">We invite applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position to join the&nbsp;<strong><em>Statistical Foundations for Detecting Anomalous Structure in Stream Settings (DASS)&nbsp;</em></strong>Programme, based at Lancaster University<em>.</em> The DASS Programme will consider the foundational statistical challenges of identifying anomalous structure in streams within constrained environments, handling the realities of contemporary data streams, and identifying and tracking dependence across streams.</p><p>This &pound;4M programme is funded by EPSRC and brings together research groups from the Universities of Lancaster, Bristol, Warwick&nbsp;and the London School of Economics together with a committed group of industrial and public sector partners.&nbsp;</p><p>Interaction between the research groups at the universities will be strongly encouraged and resourced;&nbsp;our philosophy is to tackle the methodological, theoretical and computational aspects of these statistical problems together. This integrated approach is essential to achieving the substantive fundamental advances in statistics envisaged, and to ensuring that our new methods are sufficiently robust and efficient to be widely adopted by academics, industry and society more generally.</p><p>The programme is led by Idris Eckley (Lancaster University), Haeran Cho (University of Bristol), Paul Fearnhead (Lancaster University), Qiwei Yao (London School of Economics) and Yi Yu (University of Warwick).&nbsp;</p><p>This 2-year position is available at Lancaster University. You should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Statistics or a closely related discipline. Throughout, you should have demonstrated an ability to develop new statistical theory and methods in one of the relevant areas, including but not limited to: anomaly detection; changepoint analysis; non-stationary time series analysis, high dimensional statistics, statistical-computational tradeoffs, scalable statistical methods.             <p id="isPasted">Applications&nbsp;are invited for a NIHR funded integrated academic training clinical lecturer post in Neurology, Public Health Medicine or General Practice at Lancaster Medical School. Two posts are available for up to four years: according to the clinical training needs of the successful candidate to obtain a CCT.&nbsp;General Practitioners (GPs) can only apply if they have completed their clinical training and obtained a CCT. You will join us on a fixed-term contract lasting a maximum of four years or until completion of clinical training (CCT)*, whichever is sooner.</p><p>You will have the opportunity to undertake internationally regarded research and share responsibility for elements of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes. You will be awarded a training contract with Health Education England Northwest in the specialist registrar/specialty trainee grade or equivalent and an honorary contract with a relevant NHS Trust*.</p><p>One post is in the NIHR priority theme of digital research. The theme is looking to encourage training and research around the development and delivery of digital health and care interventions, digital research methodology and &lsquo;big data&rsquo; analysis Research could include the use of Artificial Intelligence and machine-learning approaches and emerging digital technologies such as non-contact sensors, smartphones, and computer tablets. This theme could also include research in data analytics and predictive analytics, precision medicine (genomics), and virtual &amp; augmented reality.
